Victims’ Bill of Rights

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to prosecuting criminals and providing advocacy and support services to their victims. The victim advocates in the Victim Witness Assistance Program are committed to supporting you and your family in the aftermath of crime, providing guidance through the criminal justice process, and locating appropriate support services.

Witness Guide to Court Proceedings

Victim of Crime Compensation Forms

Victim advocates are also available to offer assistance in preparing a victim impact statement at the sentencing, assistance in obtaining emergency services such as food, clothing and shelter, assistance in completing a temporary restraining order, and filing an application with the state Victims of Crime compensation board for crime-related expenses (e.g., long-term counseling, domestic violence relocation funds, medical/dental reimbursement).

Safe at Home Confidential Address

Safe at Home is a confidential address program administered by the California Secretary of State's office and is most effective when used as a part of an overall safety plan. Safe at Home offers victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, human trafficking & elder and dependent abuse, as well as reproductive health care workers, a substitute mailing address to receive first class, certified, and registered mail.

Youth and Community App

The first-of-its-kind “Youth & Community Connect” (YCC) app has officially launched! This community collaborative youth resource app is hosted by the District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with Always Knocking, Inc., La Familia Counseling Center, Inc. and Brother to Brother.
